United Furniture Warehouse Class Action Lawsuit

Docken and Company filed a lawsuit against United Furniture Warehouse over its Cashable Voucher Program. Customers who purchased furniture received a future cashable voucher, which ultimately proved to be of limited value.

Through cooperation and discussion with co-counsel in British Columbia, Docken and Company determined that a consolidated action in that province would be the best approach for a case against United Furniture Warehouse. British Columbia's more favorable consumer protection laws will hopefully prove beneficial in this matter.

Several court appearances regarding this claim have been made, and the matter is now scheduled to proceed to a Certification Application in the fall of 2009 to determine whether the court will allow it to proceed as a class action.

Anyone who believes United Furniture Warehouse's Cashable Voucher Program may have taken advantage of them is encouraged to contact our offices today to determine whether or not they would have a potential case. We can be reached by email at reception@docken.com, or by telephone at 403-269-3612, or you can complete our "Do I have a Case?" sign up form.
