Mr. Freeman grew up in Alberta, Canada. Growing up he was active in most sports, although not tall enough to make his varsity basketball team. He played a lot of hockey in those years playing 3 years (ages 17-19) in the Capital Junior Hockey League and was assistant captain of his team. He attended university in Edmonton, Alberta, graduating from U of A’s law school in 1990. Now in his mid-forties, his activities focus mainly on skiing or golfing. Mark C. Freeman has been practicing law for more than 18 years. and has appeared in all level of courts, including the superior courts’ Trial level, Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. He has made hundreds of court appearances, and has several successful trial verdicts including a four and a half week trial concerning product liability. He is a member of the Law Societies of British Columbia and Alberta. In particular Mr. Freeman has extensive experience in insurance litigation including three years as litigation counsel working in-house for a multinational insurance company. As well Mr. Freeman has been successful in the Alberta Court of Appeal on two cases of Estate Litigation; and was successful in certifying a pollution Class Action. He has also successfully defended a land developer against a Class Action which included claims against the Officers and Directors for misrepresentations in a debenture. Mr. Freeman is a member of the National Executive of the Civil Litigation section of the Canadian Bar Association. He’s also a member of the Calgary Bar Association, and the Insurance Institute of Canada. |

Mr. Docken, has been practicing law for more than 30 years at all levels of court including the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen's Bench, Court of Appeal in Alberta, Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1992. He is also an experienced mediator and was appointed a chartered mediator by the the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Canada Inc. in 1999. |

Gloria was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario and moved to Calgary, Alberta in the fall of 1980. In 1992 Gloria graduated from the Career College legal assistant program in Calgary, obtaining her diploma with honours. She has been enjoying applying herself in the legal field for the past 14 years.
Her hobbies include reading, traveling and aerobics. |

Patricia joined our firm in 2007 after leaving one of the large law firms in the city. She has 20 plus years of legal experience most of which she acquired in BC. Her role at Docken & Company is in litigation support and loves the challenges that it brings. In her spare time she likes to read, takes courses to keep learning and thinks she can golf but the sport continues to elude her and the ball still does its own thing. |
San Kwok , Legal AssistantSan worked many years for Mr. Higgerty. She joined Docken & Company during the transition of incorporating Higgerty & Associates law practice into Docken & Company. Among her many assets is her fluency in Chinese dialects. |

Adriane was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Calgary in the summer of 1994. In June 2008 Adriane graduated from the CDI College professional legal assistant program. Not only does she assist everyone that comes through the door or calls but she also assists everyone else in the office. When she is not working, she enjoys walking her dogs, Charlie and Roxy, fishing, and reading. |

Andrew W. Bone is a Student at Law and a member of the Calgary Bar Association. He commenced his articling year at Docken in the summer of 2007 soon after completing his LLB at the University of Calgary. Prior to pursuing a legal career Mr. Bone worked in Investment Banking, Risk Management and Financial Consulting. He has completed a business degree from the University of Calgary, the Canadian Securities Course and the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program. Mr. Bone is an avid tennis player and enjoys working out and traveling. |
