Is My Claim on Time? Statute of Limitations Issues No Obligation Case Evalutation
Any claim for injury, death or insurance benefits will be lost forever if you do not comply with the applicable time limits. Some of the more frequently encountered time limits are listed here, though this list is by no means comprehensive.

In Alberta, Canada, the time available to sue is set out in the Limitations Act. Generally speaking, individuals and companies have two years to file a lawsuit from the date they ought to have known they had potential for a lawsuit.

There is a further 'drop dead' date of 10 years from the date the claim arose, after which parties cannot sue even if they didn't know they had a lawsuit.

There are exceptions to these limitation dates, and one should consult a lawyer with their specific situation to know for certain whether their time to sue is up.
